The first stop of my ‘Drive-about’ was at Crested Butte. The town was very small and awesome. People do say that Crested Butte is the wildflower capital of Colorado… and that really is no lie. On the Washington Gulch trail, the wildflowers were everywhere, it was amazing, but a bit hard to capture on camera, but I did my best. So that was day 2, doing the Washington Gulch trail. Day 3 was the Lost Lake trail, and that was awesome. All three lakes along the trail were very peaceful and serene, but I think that Dollar lake, the last on the loop and the smallest of the three lakes, was the best.

After Crested Butte, I drove to the Black Canyon. See my next post for those pictures.
