We arrived in Siem Reap, Cambodia after flying from Bangkok, Thailand on Monday, October 10th, 2016. The night that we got in, we simply just hung out at our hotel, the Billina Boutique. There, I hung out with my family at poolside, where we drank some beers, the Angkor beer. Hanging around the pool by us was an older couple, and the man saw my University of Colorado t-shirt, then asked if I was actually from Colorado. I said I was, and he and his wife proceed to tell us that they lived in Grand Junction and Montrose for a lot of their lives, which is pretty crazy.

After talking to the Colorado couple, we walk into Siem Reap proper where we find a French/Cambodian restaurant. It was raining pretty hard as soon as we got to the restaurant. After eating, the rain had finally died down, but it still made it so that the night market wasn’t as spectacular that night as it could have been. We then head back to our hotel to go to bed, in order to wake up around 4 AM in order to catch the sunrise at Angkor Wat.

After going to temples all day, we return to Siem Reap, where we rest at the Hard Rock Cafe and then walk around the market for a bit. Overall, Cambodia was a really great experience. I’ll get into it more in my next posts.
