The Adventures
Jack Daniels Distillery
The day after my parents and I arrived in Tennessee in order to visit family for Thanksgiving, the three of us went to go visit the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
Nashville, Tennessee
The night that my parents and I flew into Tennessee we had dinner in Nashville along Broadway. I then went back into Nashville with my family the day after Thanksgiving.
Cotopaxi, Colorado
I have been in this area at least once before, possibly twice, and it is always a pleasure to be there. The crisp and cool mountain air, the starry nights and great sunsets and sunrises, and of course, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Pictures from around Bangkok, Thailand
Overall, my nearly two and a half weeks in Thailand (with one night in Cambodia) were well spent. It was a great vacation, and it was really good to see family that I never get to see.
Chatuchak Weekend Market, Bangkok
I visited the Chatuchak Weekend Market – also known as JJ’s Market – with my sister Andrea on October 22nd, the day before I left Thailand and flew back to Colorado.
Elephant Bay Resort, Ko Chang
My sister Andrea and I stayed at the Elephant Bay Resort on the Thai island of Ko Chang for four nights, from October 17th to October 20th. We stayed in separate rooms, but the rooms were like bungalows, or so they were advertised. Each room had a single bed...
Boat Tour around Ko Chang’s Islands
We went snorkeling at four different islands throughout the day. The first place and the last place that we went snorkeling at were the best. There were so many different species of tropical fish.
Bang Bao Pier, Ko Chang
We then headed to the Bang Bao Pier, which is a place where they built many shops and restaurants on the pier. The pier stretches out pretty far into the bay, and at the very end of the pier is a white lighthouse.
Khlong Phlu Waterfall, Ko Chang
On the short hike/walk through the jungle to get to the waterfall from the National Park entrance, we saw a lot of wildlife. Big spiders with black bodies and red legs, lots of fish, some snails, and even a river turtle.
Ko Chang, Thailand
Andrea and I spent a total of three days and four nights on Ko Chang. It took just about all day to travel there. The first day we went to a waterfall, then to the Lonely beach, then to the Bang Bao Pier.
Grand Palace, Bangkok Thailand
I visited the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand on October 16th with my sister Andrea. The King’s passing had been announced for just about three days now, and we were at the Grand Palace for the first day of a big funeral event.
Monkey Mountain, Hua Hin
After we visited the train station in Hua Hin, we drove to Monkey Mountain. In Thai, it is known as Khao Takiab mountain. This mountain is called monkey mountain for a reason… there were so many monkeys!
